Early this morning, Ken Rosenthal broke the news that Andrew Miller has been traded to the Cleveland Indians for two outstanding prospects, Clint Frazier and Justus Sheffield.
Frazier is the Indians #1 prospect, a 21 year old CF with big time power and speed potential. He was just called up to AAA after dominating AA for most of the season and could be in the Bronx relatively soon (does this mean Gardner or Ellsbury could be on the way out?)
Sheffield is a 20 year old LHP in high-A ball, but pitching very well. He’s just 5’10, which can be worrisome for a pitcher, but has great stuff.
The selloff has begun.
With any luck, by the end of the day tomorrow, Jacoby Ellsbury, Brett Gardner, Carlos Beltran, Aaron Hicks, Chase Headley, Brian McCann, CC Sabathia and Mark Teixeira will all be wearing new uniforms, and Alex Rodriguez will be getting a sun tan on a beach in Miami.
