Don’t look now, but Aaron Judge has gotten hot again. Judge is in the middle of a four-game hit streak, and has homered twice in the last three games, giving him 18 for the season. His average sits at .268 and he has struck out 96 times in 347 at bats – a bit high, but the power is real.
There have been no estimates on when Judge will be called up, but it would not be surprising to see him in the Bronx on Saturday, after Alex Rodriguez comes off the roster on Friday night.
As Jack Curry noted in this Tweet, Eovaldi’s velocity was down more than 3 MPH last night. He has been sent back to NY for medical evaluations. This is the second straight year that he has had elbow trouble in August
Alex Rodriguez will likely be in the lineup tonight against a left-handed starter. He is currently 4 home runs shy of 700. Does he have one more big night in him?
The Yankees 23-year-old catcher was 4-for-5 last night and hit his first home run of his major league career. Statcast measured it at 426 feet, with an exit velocity of 106 mph (on a 91 mph fastball). Brian McCann has cleared waivers and Sanchez appears to be giving the Yankees confidence in his abilities.
